Humanitarian Outreach — Kenya 2025

In the spring of 2025, I had the incredible privilege of traveling to Kenya, Africa, on a humanitarian service mission. Our focus was the western Maasai region, where we joined forces with local communities to support essential efforts in healthcare, education, and access to clean water.

This impactful trip was structured around three key initiatives: providing free medical and vision care, assisting in the construction of a local school, and distributing clean drinking water systems in partnership with RipplAffect, a local non-profit dedicated to sustainable water solutions. I was honored to bring over 1,000 pairs of new and gently used eyeglasses—many generously donated by our patients—to help restore clear vision to those in need.

Each day, we traveled to remote villages where access to healthcare is limited. There, we offered comprehensive medical and vision services completely free of charge. It was both humbling and inspiring to meet the warm and welcoming people of Kenya and contribute to their well-being.

During our time there, we also had the unique opportunity to explore Kenya’s breathtaking natural beauty on a safari, a powerful reminder of the country’s rich wildlife and landscapes.

To everyone who donated eyeglasses, your generosity truly made a difference—bringing clearer sight and hope to so many lives.

As the Maasai people say, Ashe—thank you.
